Prop up the bar at the National Theatre’s riverfront pop-up

Posted at 12:30 pm, May 3, 2013 in Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drink

How many plays have you been to see at the National Theatre this year? For any seasoned theatre-goer, playing ‘spot the prop’ at the National Theatre’s new pop-up riverside bar should be a piece of cake. This carefully crafted café/bar opens today (until September 28) for a second summer and is packed to the rafters (literally) with scenery and props from recent productions. First one to find the train set from ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ should be bought a drink by their mates and if you can bag a space on one of the House of Commons benches from ‘This House’, even better. Get yourself a sunny spot, sup on Sipsmith spirits and Meantime Beer and chow down on snacks while watching the sun go down over the river. Happy days.
