There’s nothing not to love about afternoon tea, but if you’re vegan, you might get a bit stuck somewhere around the clotted cream and the milky Earl Greys. Luckily, the Made in Hackney Local Food Kitchen has heard your exasperated, animal-friendly sighs and is holding a daytime Vegan Tea Workshop on Saturday, June 1 in Stoke Newington, led by Jayne Totty of Supernourished. You’ll be able to make scones with jam and cream tea breads, petit fours with edible flowers, verrines (vegan terrines – pictured) and vegan finger sandwiches. And then scoff it all at the end. The workshop is £65 and all profits go towards funding MIH’s program of free courses for vulnerable and low-income community groups.
