Five things LondOntheInside are looking forward to this June

Yep, it might finally be here at long last. And just in time. Summer – good to see you old pal. To help us all recover from the coldest spring on record, our friends over at LondOnTheInside are looking forward to warmer days with five great things to look forward to this June…

Casa Negra, Great Eastern Street, opens 10 June
‘Great news people. Trendy Mexican joint La Bodega Negra (the one located behind the sex shop sign in Soho) is opening a second outlet further East in Shoreditch. A regular celeb haunt, we know Casa Negra will have the hottest guest list in the hood. Oh and before we forget, there’s 50% off lunch during opening week. WINNING!’

Pimm’s Summer Garden, Great Newport Street, 19 – 29 June
‘Nothing says summer quite like a bloody good glass of Pimm’s and with the weather we’ve been having, they have been few and far between. Which is why the Pimm’s indoor summer garden is a no-brainer. Basically all the goodness of the English summer indoors, pre-recorded birds tweeting, picnic blankets and lashings of Pimm’s. In your face, wet weather.’

Drenge plus The Wytches, Camden Barfly, 5 June
‘New bands are popping up all over the place at the minute and the most exciting thing about the latest crop is their punk rock grunge pop. It’s like a Nirvana revival is among us. Catch two of the best emerging acts at Camden’s Barfly this month when Castleton duo Drenge and Brighton’s The Wytches take to the stage with dirty desert whips and melancholic shuffles. We’re itching for this one – see you at the front!’

BLOOM pop-up, Covent Garden, 11 – 13 June
‘This month holds World Gin Day (June 15) and to celebrate, BLOOM gin are giving you the chance to pick your own strawberries, and  we don’t mean down at Tesco Express. Visitors to the BLOOM pop-up in Covent Garden will be able to pick strawberries to the sound of birds (there’s a theme here) and the smell of freshly cut grass before using them to make a G&T. Now all you need is a tractor to take you there.’

The Denim Room, Selfridges, opens 3 June
‘Not content with having the world’s largest footwear department, Selfridges Oxford Street is now home to the world’s biggest denim department. The department will stock everything from Primark £11 jeans to jeans for £11,000. That’s right £11,000. There will be a self service till and no less than 30 members of staff to help you shop.’
