Stoke Newington Literature Festival

The Stoke Newington Literary Festival is upon us once again. The week-long east London festival features everything from readings, lectures and literary panel discussions to gigs, film screenings, kids’ workshops, walking tours and live comedy. Highlights include Professor Steve Jones’s ‘scientific’ rewrite of the Bible, ‘The Serpent’s Promise’ (Saturday June 8 4pm at Stoke Newington Town Hall, £6); book-nerd comedy with Robin Ince and John Hegley (Saturday June 8 8pm at Stoke Newington Town Hall, £10); The Phoenix Comic drawing workshop for kids (Sunday June 9 11.30am at Stoke Newington Library Gallery, £3) and ‘Watchmen’ illustrator Dave Gibbons in conversation (Sunday June 9 3pm at Abney Public Hall, £6).
