State of the Art Cinema

You can see them on the Tube, on the sides of buses and in the pages of Time Out. Now you can also see posters for this summer’s big blockbuster movie releases hanging on the wall of a gallery. State of the Art Cinema is a touring exhibit of 2013’s finest poster art, arranged into six categories by genre, from superheroes to comedy to family to something called ‘Dramatic Twists And Turns’. It’s already up at the Getty Images gallery in Eastcastle St, where it’ll stay until this weekend. It’ll return on July 8 to be displayed at Hoxton Arches Gallery, and finally will move on to The Gallery on Cork Street on Jul 30. Posters on show include the gleamingly heroic ‘Man of Steel’ and the classy ‘Great Gatsby’.

Read more about the exhibition at moviepreviewnetwork.com, and of course keep an eye on timeout.com/film for reviews of all the big summer movies as they arrive.

Here’s just a few of the posters that will be on show:
