Bloomsbury Summer Fete

Revel in some quintessential British fun at Bloomsbury Summer Fete today (June 14) when at 11am, the gates to Bedford Square Gardens will be opened for a day of tasty treats and eclectic entertainment. If you’re working in the area then why not stroll over for the Bloomsbury Big Alfresco Lunch. Along with nine of the area’s top caterers, new Store Street deli The Life Goddess will be serving up a variety of Greek treats; Soho-based Gelupo are taking care of the ice creams, sorbets and Sicilian ice slush (granita to those in the know); and Cakehole will be supplying – you guessed it – cake. If you have time to spare, then arrive before 1.30pm for a 50 minute dramatic, orchestral, vocal and architectural spectacle known only as EUROPA; or bring the kids down to enjoy the activities and face painting. From 4.30-10.30pm musical acts will take to the stage. Fingers crossed for sunshine. Josie Gurney-Read
