Look up London: it’s the supermoon!

If strange things happened early this morning, you’re not going round the twist – the moon is closer to the Earth than it will be all year and is officially full at 12.33pm, a phenomenon affectionately called a supermoon. And while it may not sprout hair and claws on an unsuspecting public or attract a mile-wide dolphin pod to the Thames, it will certainly illicit howling, purchases of astronaut ice cream from the Science Museum, homemade jetpacks and superman puns. And it’s just as pretty as Henry Cavill. Speaking of which, here’s a picture of him because, well, why not?  Kate Enright
