London Bakespotting: the capital recreated in carbs

It seems that London’s bakers were exceptionally busy last weekend, providing sweet and savoury treats around the capital for lucky viewers to cast their eyes on.

First stop – Paddington Station, where an edible replica of the Heathrow Express arrived into the station to mark the train’s 15th anniversary. Baked by 15 pairs of hands, the mammoth cake is made up over over 80 large sheets of sponge, and laid end-to-end, would be longer than the length of an Olympic-size swimming pool. I’m sure that’s too big for even this guy to handle.

Fresh out the Pizza Express oven at Westminster, this cheesy take on the Houses Of Parliament would go down a treat with a margherita. Sorry…

Bread brigadiers Warburtons treated a lucky few to a slice of London’s yeasty skyline.

St. Pauls and Westminster roll together perfectly, wouldn’t you agree.
