In my youth, warm summer days were spent rolling around in open fields with grass in my hair and clothes. Meals outdoors usually consisted of peanut butter sandwiches. Held just beside the lush greenery of London Fields in Hackney, Feast in the Fields reminds me of my childhood – but with better catering. A monthly gathering of street food traders dishes out almost everything but peanut butter sandwiches. This weekend’s line-up includes hand-rolled sushi from Tacochu, risotto balls from Arancini Brothers, good ol’ fried chicken from Thank Cluck, cured meats and free peeks at the Victorian-clad boys from What the Dickens and many more. Now, if only it wasn’t so difficult to get grass stains off my clothes… Christine Yeo
