At every London Pride there inevitably comes the hour when the shrieking in the streets of Soho starts to die out and you begin to feel a bit shivery in your bondage gear. If you find yourself in this situation and at a loss for what to do next, here’s a few choice post-pride parties:
Pride’s ‘official after-party’, this warehouse set up is going to be HUGE, in every sense of the word. We’re a little bit dubious about the swimming pool, but really excited about three of London’s most raucous gay nights convening under one roof: Sink The Pink, Popstars and One Love will all be hosting rooms.
Gutterslut, East Bloc, EC1V
Dalston Gay Mafia take over the dark and labyrinthine East Bloc to provide pumping disco till the early hours. If you spent the day wondering where all the hot east London gays were in Soho, you’ll find them flooding here around midnight after Shoreditch Park’s Summer Rites Pride comes to a close.
For the more refined among us, Amy Lamé pays homage to infamous London lesbian bar The Gateways with this ‘vintage queer showbar’ for butch and femme men and women alike.
G-A-Y Late, W1D
If you haven’t got a ticket for G-A-Y Presents The Backstreet Boys and The Wanted live at Heaven, fear not. Head to G-A-Y Late for similarly cheesy pop tunes and after a few of their bargain drinks, you won’t know what you’re missing.
Code, The Green Carnation, W1D
A stone’s throw from Soho Square, Code is THE lesbian event this year, with three floors of girls dancing to the likes of IzzyTrixx and DJ Alpha.
R&She, Vogue Fabrics, N16
Sweaty basement favourite Vogue Fabrics plays host to an evening of gender-bending debauchery, spinning only the biggest hits from the biggest queens in R’n’B. Get there early, it fills up fast.
Hustlaball, Electric Brixton, SW2
One stage, seven hours, sixty pornstars and a slathering of hardcore disco beats. You do the math. Amelia Abraham
