Posted at 5:00 pm, July 10, 2013 in Arts & Entertainment, Fun London, Music & Nightlife

Want a holiday to Mexico but can’t afford the flights? Join the fiesta fun this week as London celebrates Mexico’s finest cultural offerings at MexFest 2013. Head down to Rich Mix cinema from July 11-14, where you’ll be treated to all-Mexican screenings throughout the four day festival. Whether you’re more ‘Nacho Libre’ or ‘Nora’s Will’ there is sure to be something to rattle your maracas.

Our pick is Sunday’s ‘Manuela de Laborde’, a video art piece accompanied by live music, but the opening night’s ‘Life On Mars?’ by Daniel Guzmán and closing party are sure to be a hit. Tequila and piñatas at the ready.

The V&A Museum will also be indulging in Mexican musicality with traditional folk band Grupo Mono Blanco performing on Friday night. And, for an even more cultured hit of central American celebration, the Royal Academy will be running a series of talks on topics from ‘Art and Architecture in Modern Mexico’ to the ‘Challenges of A Mexican Global Firm’. Cease your siesta, pop on a poncho and celebrate amazing Mexicana! Find out more about London Mexfest 2013.
