Is it just us or is King’s Cross’ new pop-up roller rink a little reminiscent of ‘Tron’? Up and coming architecture studio Feix and Merlin have attempted to resurrect the area’s former legendary roller disco status by designing a fresher and more exuberant skating rink for 2013. The Canvas Club once held infamous Thursday roller disco nights, but the new pop-up may just re-kindle its old magic.

SKATE KINGS CROSS will be arriving at the West Handyside Canopy on July 12, where it’ll stay for eight weeks, providing everything from late-night disco DJ to family friendly day-time fun. The rink will accomodate up to 100 skaters at a time, with onlookers free to sample any of the delicacies on offer from punk foodies ‘Disco Bistro’. A viewing area and bar will also be open to those who prefer a more grounded experience.
