Alexandra Park originally opened as a Victorian leisure park and is returning to its roots for a 150th big birthday bonanza today (July 21).
Get all Robin Hood with some archery, tee up with pitch and putt and have fun vintage style with Victorian street performers, all in celebration of Ally Pally’s big day. There will be family fun at the fairground, pedalo races and a trackless train, as well as the opportunity to get sky high in a tethered balloon. At the South Terrace Street Party there will be local music and dance acts, the bandstand will be hosting acts including community choirs and the amazing Scottish dance band Licensed to Ceilidh, while sunny steel drum troupe Pan Nation will be playing at the farmer’s market.
If this isn’t cool enough already, Ally Pally Ice Rink will be holding skating exhibitions and an extra public session. Marvellous! Kitty Knowles
