Back in March, I experienced my very first Holi celebration at Dishoom’s Village Underground Holi party. I had no idea what to expect – apart from the fact that I would get covered in paint – but by gosh it was brilliant. There’s something incredibly liberating about wildly throwing a powder rainbow at total strangers, dancing under clouds of colourful paint dust and watching yourself turn into a multicoloured mess. Well now it seems that London can’t get enough of chucking paint about. Hot on the heels of the Colour Run comes another wave of Holi fever. This Saturday (August 3) Holi One comes to Battersea Power Station for a day (and night) of music, dancing and hourly paint throwing. Then the following weekend, the Holi Festival of Colour is back at the old power station for a mega paint party. Dig out some old white clothes and prepare to get colourful. Warning: it took me 4 washes to get the paint out of my hair (see above). Sonya Barber
