DS Graffiti Stencil

When London graffiti artist DS had his trademark ‘Bad Kitty’ removed from a building on Essex Road, Islington, he decided not to accept the writing on the wall. A month ago, and full of frustration, the 28-year-old watched as his Hello Kitty spoof was buffed away after just eight hours of public appreciation. But impressively, the playful painter transformed his annoyance into inspiration and used the removal man that had spurned him so as a muse for an ever more poignant piece of street art. The white-shirted wall-cleaner is still in full view. Maybe there is a greater admiration for DS’s latest piece of work – or perhaps no-one is willing to risk being caught in the act and sprayed on the wall as the artist’s next sitter. Kitty Knowles
