The making of Mutya, Keisha and Siobhán (aka MKS)

Sugababes

London teenagers Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy were transformed into the Sugababes by former All Saints manager Ron Torn. An appropriate name, given the amount of strife the girls would go later through. Relive their journey below…

1998
Keisha Buchanan, Siobhán Donaghy and Mutya Buena are brought together as teen pop band sensation Sugababes.

2001
Mutya and Keisha’s close friendship leaves Siobhán in the cold. She quits and is prescribed antidepressants.

2009
Last original member Keisha leaves. What remains is a slightly crappy phantom version of the ’babes.

2010
Mutya tries to trademark the band’s name and spends £5k on buttock-enhancing surgery. Coincidence?

2013
Now approaching their thirties, the trio bury the hatchet and regroup as Mutya Keisha Siobhan (aka MKS), signing a deal worth a cool £1million. Result!

MKS are playing tonight at the Scala but alas, it is sold out! They’re also DJIng We Love Pop at Bells of Shoreditch on August 3.

Get in the mood by listening to their new single ‘Flatlines’ below:
