Give your liver a rest at booze-free Redemption bar

Posted at 1:15 pm, August 3, 2013 in Food & Drink

What do you call a bar that doesn’t serve alcohol? A virgin bar? Maybe not. Whatever you call it, one thing’s for sure – Redemption’s as alcohol-free as a Mormon’s liver. Instead, this new pop-up bar will be offering only mocktails at its Sunday residency at Netil House until September 22. Prepared by nutritional therapist and chef Jayne Totty, the food will also be as wholesome as the drinks – mostly raw, and made from ingredients that would otherwise have gone to waste. Expect the likes of courgette ‘spaghetti’ with walnut and pumpkin seed pesto, brown rice and avocado salad with miso-citrus dressing, and raw cacao truffles with berry compote. It may be booze-free, but it shouldn’t be a sober affair with regular live music and DJ sets. Go on, make the prohibitionists proud.

Redemption opens between 11am-10pm, on Sundays from July 21-Sept 22. Book for free here.
