It’s official. The time has come to bid farewell to the summer of David Bowie as this Sunday sees the final day of the V&A’s ‘David Bowie Is’ exhibition. To say goodbye to the sell-out installation which told the epic tale of the king of glam rock’s journey to fame and beyond, all wannabe Ziggy Stardusts and Thin White Dukes are being called to the steps of the museum to create a tableau to end all tableaus. If you have a Jareth costume you’ve been dying to whip out, some glitter which has been screaming to see the light of day or just want an excuse to dye your hair ginger, head down there in your finest glad rags and lightning face paint for 3pm and get ready for your close up as the spectacle will be photographed for all to see.
Prefer a night with some diamond dogs than dancing in the street? Then head to the Bowie Dinner Dance at the Art Nouveau in Brixton tonight (Saturday Aug 10) where you will go on a musical journey through the evolution of David Robert Jones from humble, long haired folk singer, to mime, to the biggest name in music since… well, him! With tickets starting from £5 for the after party and a three course meal and bubbly for just £35, you’d be (Aladd)inSane to miss it. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @capstonsecond.
