Who needs a tardis, a transmat or a travel dial when you have a trusty pair of feet and a knowledgeable Doctor Who tour guide? Brit Movie Tours have prepared an amble adventure, from London Bridge to Waterloo, plotting fifteen locations used to film the Time Lord’s London over the last 50 years.
The two-and-a-half-hour Doctor Who Walking Tour stops at sites that have been featured in the series including recent episodes ‘Rose’, ‘The Shakespeare Code’ and ‘The Bells of Saint John’. Bring your camera to get snapped at 10 Downing Street, (featured in ‘Aliens of London’), the stairwells of the Earth Prison from ‘Frontier in Space’, and the Dalek battleground of ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’. Why not don a kerchief for the occasion? Remember guys, bow ties are cool!
With plenty of titillating trivia and a whole heap of behind-the-scenes know-how, here’s to hoping that the Bazoolium doesn’t forecast rain! (We hope you remember to pack some Jelly Babies for the road…)
The Doctor Who Walking Tour will take place on Sundays at 11am on August 11, 25, September 29, and October 27, as well as on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary weekend (November 23-24). Tickets are £12, with discounts for children, families and groups. Part of the tour includes a short Tube or bus journey so you will need a Zone 1 travelcard or Oyster card.
