If you can’t tell a chablis from a chenin blanc, or merlot from a malbec, then here’s your chance to learn the difference on a wine tasting course. Wine merchant Jeroboams will be kicking off a new tasting season at its Kensington branch on September 12 with a session for complete beginners. From grape varieties to regions and all the blousy language you’ll need to describe the wines you’re sipping, this one’s got legs.

Thursday September 12 from 7pm. 56 Walton St, SW3 1RB. Go to the Jeroboams website for tickets (£35) and more information. Here’s a round-up of London’s other great wine courses.
