Homelessness is a massive problem in London. Let’s be honest, you’re probably pretty used to walking past a homeless person on the street every day. The familiarity of seeing someone wrapped in blanket begging on the street is pretty worrying, so West London Churches Homeless Concern are running a sponsored Sleep Out to help Londoners to gain a better understanding of how hard life really is on the streets. The charity, who operate night shelters through the winter months and sheltered 100 vulnerable people every night last winter, are aiming to get 250 people to sleep out in Duke of York Square on October 4. WLCHC are hoping to raise £100,000 and all you need is a sleeping bag, a mat, warm clothes and some generosity from your nearest and dearest. Ally Swadling
