The days are getting shorter and the nights are drawing in. But rather than stockpiling Vicks and coordinating knitwear, Clapton is making the most of the remaining warmth with a free community festival of live music, art and loads of food and drink to mark the end of summer. The festival kicks off at 11am today (September 28) in the gardens of St John at Hackney followed by an after party inside the beautiful St John at Hackney church from 6pm (tickets are £4). In the day, there will be a live art show from Kyle Henderson, stalls from local businesses, a vintage clothing sale and a ton of activities to amuse the kids. There are also loads of street vendors from Clapton and Hackney to keep you fed, including the renowned hot sandwiches from Bell & Brisket and free-range hotdogs from Dogtown. Bronze Medallists, Lovers Electric and Samantha Whates will be taking care of the live music and if you stick around for the after party, expect live DJ sets from Oval Space’s Dan Sylvester and JETT, who has released music on Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records and Moda Black.
