Calling all thespians! It’s been 50 years since the National Theatre opened its doors at the Old Vic and to celebrate this autumn there’s a great line-up of talks and events for you to get involved in. Divided into three series, the NT talks look at how theatre has changed and how it will continue to develop. The real pick of the bunch though, are the ‘National Histories’ talks with leading actors, actresses, writers and directors revealing their own personal experiences of what goes on behind the scenes. From October 1 you can also take an interactive tour around the NT. If you solve the clues along the trail, you gain access into a secret vault where there’ll presumably be heaps and heaps of treasure.* And if hunting for treasure’s not really your bag, the BBC Arena will be broadcasting a two-part documentary about the NT’s journey from the Old Vic to the South Bank. The documentary will include rare footage from the National’s archive and see guest appearances from the likes of Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and Maggie Smith. Millie Walton

*We can’t guarantee there’ll actually be treasure.
