Generally speaking, there are two kinds of people: the planners, and the fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants-ers. But how about those somewhere in the middle? Who like a date for dinner, but don’t mind being left in the dark about the details? For you crazy cats, there’s Hideout, a new event from alternative dining company Gingerline. Taking place in top-secret locations along the orange-hued (hence ‘ginger’) eastern stretch of the London Overground, the address for your four-course ‘immersive’ dinner will only be revealed 60 minutes before it begins (so if you live in Surrey, forget it). Past themes have included a mad puppeteer’s workshop (in Forest Hill), an underwater world (in Shoreditch) and a secret cult (in a candlelit Canonbury chapel). The event will run throughout November and December 2013 – tickets (£50 for weekdays, £55 for weekends) go on sale via gingerline.co.uk from 9am TODAY (September 30). Tania Ballantine
