Wheelie bin cocktails, rainbow unicorn cakes and taxidermy: LondOnTheInside’s picks for October

WHEELLLLY

October you old devil. Not looking forward to the nights getting darker and colder? Fear not, our pals at LondonOnTheInside think there’s loads to look forward to this month…

Talented Mr Fox
‘How do you cut through the mass of cocktail bars, pop-ups and events in London to get your joint noticed? Serve cocktails in a wheelie bin of course. T hat’s just what you’ll find at The Talented Mr Fox’s pop up at One Leicester Street from October 1. Cocktails in wheelie bins, crystal clear bloody marys and ingredients that include beef dripping and black pudding.’

Chuck’s Clubhouse
‘Chuck’s Clubhouse is going to be kicking up a storm, ’90s style. We’ll be first in line in Covent Garden at this ‘cocky but cool’ American college culture playhouse. There’s pizza sold by the slice, craft beer, arcade games, a neon lit ‘Tunnel Of Love’, cocktails served in viking helmets and, each table has a phone from which you can call up another table. Seriously, what’s not to love?’

Edible Utopia
‘It’s National Baking Week and whilst we wouldn’t know what to do with a whisk, it doesn’t mean we can’t get involved in the eating, does it? Especially when it involves a ‘Wonka-esque’ pop-up created by our favourite baker Miss Cakehead – yes the one who made the fanny cakes! There’s all kinds of weird and wonderful things on offer from a giant unicorn made from rainbow cake to a honeycomb beehive. Get involved on Carnaby Street on October 11/12.’

London Live From The Inside
‘We’re excited to be teaming up with the Hoxton Hotel, using their uber-cool Apartment to host a series of gigs. Yes, we’re LIVE on the Inside showcasing some of our favourite bands in London. Fours shows, four bands, a whole load of Bootlegger whisky, live streamed via Hoxton Radio and all for FREE. Antimatter People start off the series on the 23rd followed by CROWS on the 30th. More next month, too.’

DIY Taxidermy
‘Who hasn’t had a pet die that they’ve wanted to keep forever? Well head along on October 30 to this DIY Taxidermy class and you’ll learn how to stuff dead animals at home using little more than the contents of your kitchen cupboards. Just imagine how your stuffed pet collection will go down with potential dates? Priceless. Be prepared to slice and dice…’
