London Cocktail Week

It’s time to stock up on hangover remedies, people – London Cocktail Week (Oct 7-13) is just around the corner. For the uninitiated, LCW is the ultimate celebration of the city’s classiest booze, with hundreds of venues across the city serving up £4 cocktails and running special events. Fancy a piece of the action? Grab yourself a £10 wristband at Seven Dials and then check out our pick of these good-times-guaranteed highlights.

Lunch like Don Draper…
You may have the sharp suit and slick hair, but, when lunchtime rolls around you’ll need to do better than a limp supermarket baguette if you want to truly channel TV’s suavest advertising exec. In fact, do away with grub altogether and nail a Three Martini Lunch (12 noon, Fri Oct 11 and Sat Oct 12) at the Portobello Road No. 171 Pop-Up Parlour. Although it might be an idea to grab some carbs on the way back to the office, unless you fancy slurring through your 2pm meeting.

Drink in the city’s best view…
Like your alcohol at altitude? Grab ticks to a luxury dinner at Hutong on October 7, where the restaurant’s northern Chinese cuisine will be paired with some seriously classy cocktails. We can’t promise there’ll be complimentary prawn crackers, but, from the 33rd floor of the Shard, you’ll certainly have a fine vista to feast on.

Go on a classier booze cruise…
Sick of sipping on dry land? Steady your sea legs and check out Vestal Voyages. Running every single day of London Cocktail Week, this floating pop-up bar sets sail from King’s Cross and takes drinkers on an hour-long trip along Regents Canal on a classic 50ft narrow boat. The £25 ticket price includes two cocktails (infused with lesser-used botanicals like raw cocoa and American oak) and a trip through the gloomily atmospheric Islington tunnel.
