Irish girl, Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter Annie Mac reveals her favourite haunts in north-west London, which she’s lived in and around for the past five years.
‘This is a new modern Caribbean food spot that we go to a lot for lunch. It does great rotis, smoothies and home-made salads.’
2. The Chamberlayne
‘Kensal Rise has a real nice community feel. It’s villagey. This is a Kensal Rise staple. They do incredible steaks at the restaurant out the back and it’s a really solid and lively pub.’
3. Electric Diner
‘I love the new refurbished diner at the Electric. It’s right in the heart of Portobello Road and the American diner food is AMAZING. Genuinely the best burger I’ve had in London. The desserts are something to behold, it’s worth ordering one just to see how big they are. Be warned. One dessert will do two-three people.’
4. Queens Park
‘I have a lot of love for this park. It’s a proper community park, with a lovely cafe in the middle and an amazing playground for kids. It also has loads of outdoor gym equipment for the local henchmen and women and a mini golf course.’
‘This is a very exciting new Italian on the charming Lonsdale Road. It’s got a really lovely layout and authentic Italian food.’
