Have you ever stood in the Bank junction and wondered how it might look without the whirling maelstrom of cars? Well you may soon wonder no more, if the City of London Corporation has its way. In a bid to persuade businesses against relocating to Canary Wharf or overseas, the Corporation hopes that pedestrianising two of the roads leading into the busy junction – most likely Poultry, along with either Threadneedle Street or Cornhill – will create a more friendly atmosphere, and perhaps encourage Londoners to reverse the decline in City dwellers. The Corporation says they’ll begin planning next month, and finish by 2018. Colin Smith
