Paint tattoo-inspired portraits with Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo

Posted at 10:00 am, October 18, 2013 in Arts & Entertainment

Thanks to the digital age and the rise of the selfie, our faces are pretty well documented. But you can get a bit more creative with your portraits than just shoving on a filter and a clever hashtag. On October 19, Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo will be running a portrait workshop at the Atomica Gallery pop-up in Soho where you can learn to paint.

Ricardo has run similar workshops in his home city of Madrid, which he loved doing so much that now he is bringing his hands-on teaching to London. His quirky work draws heavily from tattoos and he has worked with brands likes Converse, Nike and Urban Outfitters. The workshop runs from 11am-6pm at £30 a head, for which Ricardo will show you how he paints. You’ll then have the chance to create a tattoo-inspired portrait that depicts the entire life of a person in one single image. His paintings will be exhibited in Atomica Gallery in December.
