Folks, it’s that time of year again, when the wintery pop-ups come to town. This time, on October 24 and 25, it’s none other than an alpine-themed ‘fondue feast’. Diners are invited, nay, encouraged, to wear their ski gear, because:
a) fancy dress makes fondue taste better (doesn’t everyone know that?); and
b) it’s happening outside. On a roof.
With staff dressed in ski gear (we’re hoping for fetching one-pieces), tables decked out in chalet-style gingham, and a bar stocked with Jägermeister and the like (you’ll have to pay extra for these, though the first ‘Alpine cocktail’ is included in the price), it’ll be like a classic night of après-ski, but without anyone on crutches. In addition to a classic cheese fondue, there’ll be extra veggies (roasted mushrooms and shallots) for dipping, plus a hunk of slow-cooked beef per table and it’ll all be finished off with apple strudel and custard. The full location info will only be revealed after you’ve secured tickets. Now, where’s my snood? Tania Ballantine
