If you take pleasure in heart palpitations and the thrill of being jumped out at, then Shocktober is your month. Until November 2, Tulleys Farm (yes, you’ll have to travel to creepy Crawley) is hosting ‘Shocktober’ fright nights from Thursday to Sunday every week, where you can embrace the glorious mid-autumn tradition of scaring yourself shitless.
Besides the ghostly delights of the Haunted Funfair, Cirque du Shock Circus and WoodShock Live Stage, there are also six immersive experiences put on by the film studio – you can take a Haunted Hayride, visit a haunted cellar under a farmhouse or a creepy cottage in a 16th century barn, witness the apocalyptic aftermath of ‘Woodshock rottin’ since ’69’, enter a twisted maze or journey through the hell-ements. There’ll also be traditional autumnal food on offer including a hog roast, hot dogs and toffee apples, or if you need to calm your nerves, the After Shock bar is probably the best port of call.
