Journey behind the scenes at the London Transport Museum Depot Open Weekend

Posted at 12:45 pm, October 24, 2013 in Arts & Entertainment, Fun London, Transport
Museum Depot

If there’s one thing we know about Time Outers it’s that you love all things Underground… oh and you’re a bit nosey too. It’s fortunate really, because London Transport Museum are opening up their Acton Depot again, so you can delve into the historic and rather impressive collection of 400,000 objects usually not on display.

On top of this rare chance to explore these hidden treasures, there will be film screenings, curator-led tours, a signalling demo, creative workshops as well as mini tram and railway rides to enjoy. In the run up to the open weekend there will also be special workshops on October 28, 29 and 30, while the open weekend will run an extra day, opening on Friday November 1 until 3. Once you’ve bought your ticket for a tenner (£8 concessions, kids go free) you can go back as much as you like over the three days – an ideal weekend for tube lovers and curtain twitchers alike.
