Tired of tapas? Bored by burgers? Then it’s time to go properly back to basics with the Stew House. Launched in Shoreditch in 2011, this stew-centred event has become so popular that its creators, pop-up kings The Dead Dolls Club, will be running it across two separate venues – The Dead Dolls Club (Thursdays through Sundays) and The Dead Dolls House (Saturdays and occasional Fridays). Both will offer a line-up of stews (from classics such as mutton and onion, to original creations – think venison with chocolate, or pigs’ feet, lamb and deer), alongside seasonal starters and homely puds. All to a backdrop of live music and DJs, and with a welcome cocktail to help oil the wheels. Tania Ballantine
