Lisa Comfort (vintage clothes pro, sewing guru and owner of London café Sew Over It) is launching a unique pop-up sewing shop and customisation bar. Vintage and craft enthusiasts will be able to drop in at any time to customise their own clothes, stock up on studs and pick up some top tips and expert advice. Lisa and her team will also be offering a bespoke customising service giving you the chance to own a unique wardrobe staple you can be sure no one else will have.
But there’s more to the pop-up than that; there’ll also be a series of events and workshops. At Girls Night In, you can spend an evening watching ‘Dirty Dancing’ or ‘Grease’, singing along and swooning over Swayze while reviving your wardrobe with the help of their customising experts, cocktails and cupcakes. Could it get any more twee?
There’s also an intriguing sounding Speed Dating Customizing Workshop: everyone will get a t-shirt on arrival and then work their way round each table, learning a different technique and, more importantly, meeting a new person. At the end of the night, you’ll leave with a unique t-shirt and hopefully one or two phone numbers. Don’t worry, beer and wine will be provided to help ease you into it.
