As the months get colder, the lives of the city’s most vulnerable people get much, much harder. That’s where Wrap up London comes in to play. This volunteer-driven project helps the homeless over the winter season, and with December just around the corner, they need your help.
The initiative is run by Hands on London, an organisation that aims to increase volunteering in the city. They’re asking Londoners to donate used or unwanted coats, so they can distribute them to homeless shelters, refugee shelters and other charities.
Want to get involved? Take any coats that you no longer need or want to the following tube stations between Wednesday November 13 and Friday November 15: Kings Cross, Paddington, Victoria, Waterloo, Charing Cross, London Bridge, Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf, Highbury and Islington, Baker Street and Euston. If nothing else, it’s a good excuse for a long overdue wardrobe clear-out.
