In the famous words of Grandmaster Flash, ‘don’t push me ’cause I’m close to the edge, I’m trying not to lose my head, ah-huh-huh-huh’ over the news that Oval Space is presenting the 30th anniversary of seminal hip hop film ‘Wild Style’. The film, which was released in 1983, presents a view of the underground Brooklyn scene with an all-star cast that reads like the back of an old skool hip hop album. On Saturday December 7, Oval Space is holding a dope party in celebration of the film’s 30th birthday, including a special screening and music by Ghostpoet, Tim Westwood, Alexander Nut and Patchwork Pirates.
Tickets are £10 and doors open at 7.30pm. Introduction and screening begins at 8.30pm with music from 11pm-3am.
