Frozen Underground tube map: next stop Verbier ski resort

Posted at 8:00 am, November 27, 2013 in Fun London, Maps, Transport

With the Northern line receiving a firm thumbs-down from London’s frustrated commuters, dreams of an altogether more enjoyable tube system are not far from any Londoner’s mind. Amateur astronomer and skiing enthusiast Anton Vamplew decided to put his dream down on paper, resulting in the Frozen Underground.

The Frozen Underground connects skiing resorts throughout the world – such as Aspen and Chamonix – in the style of the iconic London tube map. Instead of taking the Hammersmith and City Line to Liverpool Street, how about getting on board the District and Continental line to Cortina? Or the Après Ski Line to Alpe d’Huez? You can even get a bespoke Frozen Underground map, with the addition of personalised stations. Just mind the gap!
