Although the phrase ‘play date’ may conjure up images of Sunday afternoons spent fighting over Barbie dolls and making mud-pies, the guys at PlayDate London are offering up something altogether different. Well, there’s still drawing, painting and maybe even a bit of LEGO, but it’s all in the name of actual dating. Every couple of months, singles can attend these so-called play dates during which creative activities will be on offer in the hope that ‘the act of playing, team creativity, sweet sharing and plasticine crafting makes everyone less nervous and a lot more playful’.

To keep it fresh, this December, PlayDate are trying something new. On Friday December 6 a bunch of hopeful guys and gals will descend upon Notting Hill’s, Graffik Gallery for the very first graffiti workshop play date. The evening will consist of a two-hour graffiti masterclass followed by an after-party at a nearby location, where PlayDaters can get to know each other a little better. Tickets cost £39-£49  (or £89 for two, if you bring along a single friend of the opposite sex) and include beer, wine, soft drinks and nibbles. Limited discounted tickets are available via Facebook. So even if you don’t end up being the next Banksy, there’s at least the chance you might get to snog someone who does.
