On The Beat

When Tim Derbyshire put his Hanway Street vinyl store on eBay (including all records), for the bargain price of £300,00, it was clear that he was ready to hand over the keys. Unfortunately for Derbyshire, On the Beat failed to find a new owner, which means that it will have to close after almost 35 years in business. The store will be open until the new year, after which Derbyshire plans to move on to new ventures. It’s time to say goodbye to this palace of vinyl and its vast collection of LPs. Go and visit while you still can.
