Free burritos, Christmas films and boozy pop-ups: it’s LondOnTheInside’s festive December top five

Hoxton Hotel

Whoa there December, nice to see you old pal. There’s a hell of a lot of stuff coming up this month (apart from all that gorging, obviously), but our pals at London OnTheInside have picked the top five things they’re most excited about…

King’s Ginger Pop-Up, Hoxton Hotel, Dec 5-8
‘Nothing says Chrimbo like a tipple of King’s Ginger Liqueur and the brand will be popping up for four days only in the courtyard garden of the Hoxton Hotel. The garden will be turned into an Edwardian themed drinking parlour with five warming drinks on offer. We’re all over the King’s Ginger Mulled Aspall Cyder, served hot.’

Free Burritos, Chipotle, every Sat throughout December
‘Who doesn’t like free food? And what’s not to love about wearing Xmas jumpers on a weekend in December? Well combine the two every Saturday this month by popping into any Chipotle, flashing* and scoring free mexican grub between 4pm-6pm. *By flashing we mean showing your festive knitwear NOT your birthday suit.’

On the Bab, Old Street, mid Dec
‘The peeps behind Koba and Nizuni are heading east this month and opening up a new joint in Shoreditch that will serve dishes to match the drinks, a Korean dining style known as Anju. We’re all about the somack (the Korean cousin of the Jagerbomb) mixed with some of the kimchi arabcini. Hey, no one should drink on an empty stomach!’

Cinema Screenings, Vauxhall Village, Dec 12-15
‘Comfy chairs, warm blankets, mulled wine and Christmas films – does it get anymore festive? Vauxhall arches is where it’s at this month. “Home Alone” and “Home Alone 2” back to back? We’re in!’

Lyla Foy, The Lexington, Dec 10
‘Freshly signed to the dreamy Sub Pop record label, London-based singer-songwriter Lyla Foy will be gracing the stage on the 10th. On the same label as Beach House and Fleet Foxes, this is sure to be a Christmas delight with a blissful blend of romance, soft whispers and gentle drum machines that demand you to stand still and listen.’
