Get your skates on! London’s first pub ice rink opens at the Leather Bottle

The Leather Bottle

As if ice skating wasn’t dangerous enough, the Leather Bottle pub is throwing booze into the mix. This is either the best or the worst idea ever, and only time will tell which.

From December 1, the Earlsfield pub is setting up an ice rink in its garden, complete with festive music, low lighting and a snow machine. Yep – a snow machine. If that isn’t enough to make you totally lose your shit, they’re also converting the garden cabins into alpine ski chalets that you can hire for the day. As well as the copious amount of alcohol on offer (including mulled wine), there will be rabbit stew and homemade treacle tart to keep you sustained. And if you find the ice skating all too much, you can simply sit back, enjoy a pint and pretend you’re in the Alps.

The Leather Bottle ice rink is open between December 1-12 at the following times: 5pm-9pm (Mon-Thurs), 5pm-10pm (Fri), 11am-10pm (Sat), 11am-9pm (Sun). Skate sessions are £5 (£3 for kids), last for 20 minutes and include skate hire. Find more places to ice skate in London this Christmas.
