The Mince Pie Project isn’t just about stuffing spiced sweet treats int your gob. That’s part of it, naturally, but this is eating with a purpose. The project, now running for its third year, auctions off creative mince pies from 100 top chefs (Michel Roux Jr, Lorraine Pascale, and Raymond Blanc to name just a few) for charity.

Each chef creates two boxes of their signature pies, one is auctioned off to the highest bidder (last year Duck and Waffle’s Dan Doherty’s gingerbread mince pies went for a staggering £1,900) and the other is put into a raffle so anyone can get involved at just £2 a ticket.  This year they’ll be supporting Food Cycle and Kids Company. Last year they raised a whopping £30,000 for charity and the project is hoping it can surpass that this Christmas. Get your paddles prepped and let the bidding commence…
