Thirsty for facts: London vs New York in the coffee wars

While Italy and Morocco come to mind when one thinks of good coffee, Tassimo have taken it upon themselves to be the harbingers of a coming caffeine war between New York City and London. Tassimo has analysed the caffeine consumption habits of the Big Smoke and the Big Apple, providing tidbits of information about how much money New Yorkers and Londoners spend on coffee, as well as how many coffee shops caffeinate the streets every day.

The British Empire may have been built on tea, but coffee is what flows through the veins of Londoners today. Having said that, the stats below seem to indicate that New York may give London a run for its money.
