You hear Wembley, you think stadium. It’s like hearing Friday and thinking wine. But Wembley’s changing and thanks to dedicated Wembley-ites, new projects are popping up. One such project is Cottrell House, a disused car showroom that’s been empty for 20 years. With help from Brent council, Meanwhile Space has transformed the showroom into a creative enterprise space for people to come and work, get business advice and hold events.
Throughout November and December the space is putting on some special evenings, aimed at bringing the people of Wembley together. Get down for some of these great events, and to experience something other than the stadium floodlights:
Pop up Spotlight: This free night give singers, bands, poets and performers from the Wembley area a chance to showcase their talents. Thursday November 28 and Thursday December 12, 7pm-10pm. Free.
The Night Food Market: Four well-known street vendors head to Wembley for this evening of delicious food and live music. Friday December 6, 6pm-10pm. Free.
PST (Project Skill Trade) Beauty and Health Event: Join practitioners from the health and beauty industry for express training on massage, nutrition and more. December 11-12, 2:30-6.30pm. Free.
December cheese and wine night: Enjoy fine wines and cheese from around the world at this event hosted by La Cave Fromage. Tuesday December 17, 7pm-10pm. Tickets are £30.00 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Festive film night: Screening of festive films for both kids and adults. Wednesday December 18, 4pm-10pm (screenings at 4.30pm and 6.30pm). Entry is £1.
