After a promising start, Mark Hix’s chicken and steak restaurant, Tramshed, has lost some of the allure that saw it win the Time Out Eating & Drinking Award for Best New Meat Restaurant in 2012. Could it be that Hix’s company, Restaurants Etc, is spreading itself a bit thin with over-expansion? This doesn’t seem to be deterring the company as new restaurant Hixter, near Liverpool Street Station, is just the first of the planned rollout of a Hixter chain. At this prototype, we find Tramshed II – but diluted into a simpler bar and grill format.
