Most of the London transport news so far this year has been a bit grim (mainly due to rising fares) but finally there’s some good news to report: TfL have announced that, as of next year, London Overground will acquire an extra 25 stations when two east London suburban rail services merge with the TfL Overground network. The lines link places like Enfield Town, Cheshunt and Chingford to Liverpool Street station via Bethnal Green and Hackney. This extension will include stations at Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill and London Fields, going to Liverpool Street through Hackney Downs. Good news for all you east London dwellers currently schlepping to Liverpool Street every day.
