Well-regarded bistro La Giaconda next to London’s tin pan alley has put an enigmatic smile on many diners’ faces. It’s just reinvented itself for the second time in two years, this time as an eatery of two parts. At the back is a smart dining room where you can still enjoy chef-patron Paul Merrony’s excellent French- and Italian-inspired dishes, while the front room has been converted into a daytime café serving fry-ups and good coffee, among other things.

See what our reviewers made of La Giaconda.
