Love it or loathe it, the tube is a fundamental part of our city. As the London Underground turns the ripe old age of 151, why not appreciate all it does for us at Tubespiration’s ‘Tube Kultura’ on January 15.
Artists, historians, mavericks, entrepreneurs, tube racers and staff will be gathering to share their tube experiences and celebrate the ‘maverick culture’ of London’s Underground. It’s your chance to meet the man who holds the world record for the ‘Tube Challenge’, the guy who created this awesome tube map of what London tastes like and other tube legends. The seven speakers (all doing inspirational things connected to the tube) will each give a seven-minute talk about their underground shenanigans and there’ll be music from some of the best buskers on the Underground to make you feel even more tubetastic.
‘Tube Kultura’ takes places at Toynbee Studios in Aldgate on January 15 from 7.30pm-9.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be bought here.
