Go wassailing at The Russet in Hackney Downs

The Russet

Wanna go wassailing? Sure you do. Get involved with this modern take on an old harvest tradition with singing, cider and strolling through an orchard, deep in the heart of – wait for it – Hackney. Yep, you heard right, there may not be an orchard, but with the folks at The Russet you can spend a Sunday walking the urban parks with traditional song and story telling, before all piling back into the warm for a reviving glass of mulled cider. A roast will be served until 5.30pm and, just in case you haven’t quite had your singing fix, there’ll be a sea shanty set to finish. Here’s to good harvest in Hackney Downs! Jamie Leatherbarrow
