‘Gravity’: exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the DVD

Posted at 5:30 pm, February 10, 2014 in Arts & Entertainment

It was one of the most watched films of 2013: a visually breathtaking, beautifully acted tale of life and death in Earth’s orbit. Now – with ten Oscar nominations under its belt and a Best Picture win looking increasingly likely – Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’ is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on March 3. And we’ve got an exclusive sneak peek.

This short clip sees director Alfonso and his son and co-screenwriter Jonas Cuarón discussing the metaphorical touchstones inherent in this story of astronauts free-floating in space. Given the film’s remarkable, groundbreaking special effects, expect the DVD to be stuffed to the space helmet with behind-the-scenes footage, of which this is just the first, sweet taste…

Read our review of ‘Gravity’, and check out an interview with the film’s special effects supervisor, Neil Corbould, in tomorrow’s issue of Time Out London.
